Each month, Bosom Buddies and subject matter experts serving as guest speakers, will present on different topics related to breast cancer including nutrition, oncology, alternative therapies, exercise, plastic surgery, radiology, and more. The first meeting will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 15, 2011 in the Cinema Room at Chris  Ridge Village, 6250 N. 19<sup>th</sup> Avenue,   north of Bethany   Home Road.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Purina Mills maker of many pet and equine food products, is kicking their first ever Pink 50 Campaign. This campaign is an effort to unite animal lovers everywhere and raise awareness and support for breast cancer organizations and breast cancer research. In October and November more than 50 fundraising events will be held throughout the US. “The purpose of the Pink 50 Campaign is to reach out to women in rural America-raising awareness about breast cancer, educating and sharing information and supporting one another” said Christy Goodwin, Marketing Manager, Land O’Lakes Purina. “As Bosom Buddies of Arizona provides a variety of community services for survivors and families dealing with a diagnosis of breast cancer, this fundraiser is a perfect fit for us” states Becky Chase, President .</p>
<p>Date: November 13, 2010</p>
<p>Location :WestWorld Trailhead @N 98th St and E. McDowell Mountain Ranch Rd. Scottsdale AZ. Walking trail and horseback trail are easy to moderate. Cost $35.00 per person (includes T-shirt and lunch), with proceeds being donated to Bosom Buddies of Arizona.  Lunch will be provided at noon as well as tons of great raffle prizes.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>A breast cancer vaccine currently in clinical trials has been haulted due to a serious side effect announced  on Tuesday by Merck Serono, a division of Merck KGaA of Darmstadt, Germany, and its U.S. affiliate, EMD Serono, Inc..</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">&#8220;The suspension affects the Phase 3 clinical program for Stimuvax, including the START and INSPIRE trials in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and the <span style="text-decoration: underline;">STRIDE trial in breast cancer</span>. Further recruitment of patients into all trials actively recruiting patients and ongoing treatment with Stimuvax in these trials are suspended.&#8221;</p>

<p>As most of you know, statutory language has been included in the House passed FY 2010 Defense Appropriations bill to interfere with the way the program operates. The language would severely limit the ability of the DOD Peer-reviewed Breast Cancer Research Program to include the most qualified members from the scientific, clinician and consumer communities on the Integration Panel.</p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #1f497d;">Our goal is to have Chairman Murtha hear from all of us that this is unacceptable! </span></strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong><span style="color: #1f497d;">The language must be deleted and we need you and your networks to contact Defense Appropriations Chairman John Murtha with the following message:</span></strong></span></p>
